We had just crossed the Arctic Circle on our way north to Deadhorse, Alaska. Trotting along the side of the road was a black wolf. We slowly pulled up alongside him and he just stopped. We stared at him, he stared at us, and then he slowly trotted off into the forest behind him. What felt like 30 seconds turned out to be 5! Time seemed to stop in that moment.
